Went out to Oakland tonight to see a production of The Vagina Monolgues. This is the third time I’ve seen this show, once live in San Francisco with the woman who wrote it, once on television, also with the original writer, and tonight. Tonights production was different than the other two because they had 17 woman doing different monologues or reading different facts as opposed to just the one woman relaying it all to a waiting audience. It gave it a very different feel. With just one woman talking to the audience, in different characters, it gave it an immediacy but seeing so many different woman up on stage the show had a dynamicism that made it compelling. I still prefer the one woman show type set up but tonight was quite good as well.
Seeing two girls give a faux lap dance to our waitress in the suishi bar was not really as hot as we were supposed to think it.
